Q. So, who exactly are you and why would you even attempt such an absurd thing?

just a meme ;-) I am an ordinary citizen just like you, using the power of the Internet to get my thoughts across to the world. I believe that even someone like me has the right to question established norms agreed upon by seasoned experts, provided I do so with proper reasoning and prior knowledge.

The reason why I started this campaign is because I believe that injustice anywhere ought to be fought against; and something which isn't even thought of as an injustice when it actually is, needs special attention. Algebra, in my opinion, is one such thing; every school student has to spend years learning it, only to find that its scope doesn't extend beyond the classroom or examination hall. Precious hours are spent painfully solving problems which have no connection whatsoever with daily life. A time which ought to be rewarding is spent in what seems more like punishment. I think this is a great injustice, and what's worse: it is, and has been, universally prevalent and unquestioned. How is this even possible? Every single student goes through the same pain, and yet, once they have successfully passed and moved on, they forget all about it until later on in life when they have children going through the same system, and are still as clueless as before as to why it is even necessary.

just a meme ;-) That's where I come in. Seeing how things are going, I refuse to allow this injustice to continue without at least an effort to resist it. I don't believe that we have to be associated with a particular field in order to bring a change; we need to be sensitive to the world around us and have the guts to speak up if something that concerns us all is not going right.

Some of you may think that my opinion is completely misplaced, and that I am greatly exaggerating the effects of an established, important school subject; please bear with me. I am not going to be merely stating my personal views; I will start off with a list of every reason I could find in favour of algebra before I go on to tell you why I disagree.
